WBW54 Passion for Piedmont

This month’s Wine Blogging Wednesday post has me very excited. Not only has David McDuff’s Passion for Piedmont installment fit in perfectly with my February 28th Italian food and wine event, it allowed me to get away from New World wines, and hopefully introduce some of my wine blog / wine vlog friends to Italian wines. While I have done a blog post or two about Italian wines, I’ve really never discussed Piedmont and it’s wines.

I have recently connected with a very dynamic woman, Debbie Frangipane, who is not only a personal trainer, but a chef. In addition to that, Debbie and her husband Barry, organize and take you on fantastic trips to Italy, where they introduce you to the wonder and beauty of Italy, as well as the amazing food and wines you can find there. After a little bit of coordination, Debbie and I decided we’d like to do a joint Food and Wine event, her cooking 3 fabulous Italian courses, and my pairing awesome Italian wines with them.

Grocery Store Zins

If you tuned in live to the TTL 05 event, you know that after the Hahn Estates wine tasting, I went on to my own Grocery Store Zinfandel tasting. My idea was to find 4 zinfandels in the grocery store, all under $20, and taste them live with you. A lot of people look for cheap, or at least inexpensive red wine, and I though Zinfandels would be fun for that.

TTL 05 – Hahn Estate Wines

Other friends pooled together some Hahn wines they got from WineDiverGirl at Wine Bloggers Conference 08 and made a fun event out of it. Not wanting to be left out, I went to the store and acquired 5 of the 6 Hahn wines they were tasting.
